This guide provides a walkthrough of a typical workflow used at Dreamdata for monitoring ad spend across various platforms. This is important to ensure alignment with planned budgets and to identify potential outliers.

Step 1: Overview of Ad Spend

  1. Go to Engagement > Ad spend dashboard on Dreamdata (this data is updated daily).

  2. Observe the total cost across all advertising platforms and the cost overview, so you can see how this spend is divided.

  3. Assess which platforms are consuming the most budget and whether this aligns with your planned distribution (e.g., expecting more spend on LinkedIn).

  4. Compare the current spend against the monthly budget (e.g., 20,000 Euros) to gauge whether spending is on track.

Step 2: Identify any outliers

  1. Group by “Campaign” to get an overview of all your campaigns currently running

  2. Click on the table and sort by highest to lowest spend to check whether there are any outliers.

Regularly review (1-4 times per week) to ensure efficient budget allocation.
